Flute Technique in "Barcarolle" by J. Offenbach
Let's examine a few basic principals of flute technique, such as tonguing-slurring and vibrato, while discussing some basic elements of music-making - while we play a short duet section of J. Offenbach's, "Barcarolle" Piano accompaniment included!

Bow Technique with Katherine Dennis
Learn about the basic principals of applying a proper bow hold, and the importance of speed, weight, and location in creating the sound and tone you wish to bring out on the violin!
Dr. Katherine Dennis, Ed.D, Jamaican-American violinist, performer and educator, is based in the NYC Metropolitan area. She has performed in venues across Europe, The United States, and Canada, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Merriweather Post Pavilion. Katherine holds degrees in Violin Performance from East Carolina University and McGill University. She earned a second Masters degree in Music Education through Hunter College's Lincoln Center Scholar Program. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Learning within Organizations at Vanderbilt University. In 2016, Dennis founded the Thurgood Marshall Academy Middle School Orchestra in Harlem, NY. She initiated the program after being awarded the 'VH1 Save the Music' grant. She continues to establish and cultivate music programs within the New York City Metropolitan and is registered through the complete Suzuki Violin Books, Volumes 1 through 10. www.katherinedennisviolin.com
