...and the leaves are sweetly blooming! And we welcome you to our first entry into the MTM Journal section, where you will find musical resources such as demonstrations of pieces, lyrics, sheet music and worksheets for your students and classrooms, homeschoolers and the homebound, memory care, therapeutic support, and for your own musical journey!

Here is a sweet classic folk tune, attributed to Scottish Composer Robert Tannahill (1774-1810) and Scottish Composer Robert Smith ( 1780-1829 ) originally entitled, " "The Braes of Balquhither" and later adapted into what is now known as, "Wild Mountain Thyme" by Irish musician Francis McPeake (1885–1971.) There are several lovely

renditions of this piece for you to enjoy.

Here are just a few:

You'll find a chord and lyric sheet attached here for your singing and playing enjoyment, as well as a 'fill in the blanks' worksheet that may be a fun and engaging way to incorporate reading, writing, and coloring into a musical memory game for the young or the young at heart! And finally, here's a bit of a grainy, old timey, recording for you to play or sing along, with if the spirit moves you!
