Violinist and Music Educator Dr. Katherine Dennis illustrates basic principles of proper bow technique.

Dr. Katherine Dennis, Ed.D, Jamaican-American violinist, performer and educator, is based in the NYC Metropolitan area.  She has performed in venues across Europe, The United States, and Canada, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Merriweather Post Pavilion. Katherine holds degrees in Violin Performance from East Carolina University and McGill University. She earned a second Masters degree in Music Education through Hunter College's Lincoln Center Scholar Program. She received her Doctorate in Leadership and Learning within Organizations at Vanderbilt University. In 2016, Dr. Dennis founded the Thurgood Marshall Academy Middle School Orchestra in Harlem, NY. She initiated the program after being awarded the 'VH1 Save the Music' grant. She continues to establish and cultivate music programs within the New York City Metropolitan and is registered through the complete Suzuki Violin Books, Volumes 1 through 10. www.katherinedennisviolin.com
